Happy New Year!

It is the end of of 2009 - wow!

This is my last year to be in my 20's. It's the year I got engaged. It's the year Adam and I decided to move in together, and did.

It's the year that Micheal Jackson died, Brittney Murphy died, and the Canadian government died....twice.

It's the year that I grew up.

It's also the end of the decade.

10 years ago I graduated from high school. 10 years ago I hadn't lived in Wolfiville, Saint john, Fredericton, Calgary, Edmonton or Halifax. I didn't know my younger brothers, hadn't lost my grandfather, hadn't lost friends to Afghanistan, and hadn't been out drinking in a bar.

This decade has been full of so many things. So many that it's a little tearful to say goodbye to it. This was the decade that I became an adult in. This is the decade that I realized my identity in. This is the decade that gave me the life experiences that helped me to decide what kind of person I'm not. This is the decade I met, and agreed to marry, my soon-to-be husband.

2000 - 2009 will be they years I was grown up but had no children. When my children look back on it, it will be ancient to them - yet they will be there for the majority of my life. They will look at it they way I regard the late 60s and early 70s. It will be the time before I was married to Adam. It will be the end of the years as an unmarried woman.

Good-bye 2009. Thanks for everything - I had a wonderful time.

Happy Christmas!

A wonderful holiday, with wonderful family, and a wonderful stomach bug to finish the season.

Okay, well, perhaps the stomach bug isn't wonderful, but the holiday and family were perfect.

Christmas morning was so much fun! It was the first time I've had a little one there to jump for joy that Santa has been there. It was adorable, and certainly hit the point home that Christmas is for the children.

That being said, Adam and I woke Tycho up at 5:45 a.m!

Adam and I spent much of our time in recent weeks travelling to various family affairs, and seeing people we scarcely spend time with.

Tasha, my sister-in-law, introduced Adam and I to a fruit I hadn't heard of: persimmons. They are a delight!

Now to fight this bug that has been plaguing me for the last 66 hours. Yes, I'm counting.

Best Fiancé Ever

Okay - so last night Adam suprised me with a gift.
He called me into the bedroom (we have company right now) and on my dresser were 2 lit candlesm 3 light pink gerbera daisies, and a pewter jewellery box, with my name engraved on the top, and on the front cover it said "8 Months Until Our Day".
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How amazing is that?!?!?! I felt so loved, and so respected! And now I have a place to put my jewelery! He's so amazing!
Adam - you're so amazing!
Also this week - got my final marks back - 91 in ANAP and 94 in PRNS. I'm very pleased with that.
Christmas is in 3 days!

I'm getting married in 8 months and 5 days. How awesome (and quick) is that?? Wahoo!

No more exams. No more exams. My exams are do~ne. My exams are do~ne. (I'm singing this).

Had a weird dream last night. There were spies, and covert ops, and Dixon was the abd guy - and Shark (who is from Alias and Heroes) is ths bad guy - and there is a hospital, and casts over faces, and green Slimer-like goo over everything. And there's kicking, and hopping/jumping/sliding over banisters, and weird elevator ops, all the while the Run For Breast cancer is going on. It was cool as hell! And I was so into it that I woke myself up early, because otherwise we would be caught!

Hey Tina - congrats on the bonus! That totally rocks! I hope you spoil yourself with it!

Tonight I'm doing Christmas stuff. Cards, baking, movie, decorating. And I'm going to L-O-V-E it. I can't wait.

Travis, Tasha and Tycho are all here, although Tycho slept more than 12 hours so I haven't been able to see him yet.

Must go to the gym tonight - I'm feeling fight-y (in a good way).

HR gave us our extensions today. So providing they work still exists, I'm here until the end of April. Wahoo! If nothing else, that means the EI is an option if I get cut loose here.

No more exams. No more exams. My exams are do~ne. My exams are do~ne. (I'm singing this).

Last exam tomorrow!! I can't wait. This month has sucked, but it's almost over. O-V-E-R
By this time tomorrow night, I will be study free! And able to do Christmas stuff!

Talked with Jen tonight, and I can't wait for her to get home and be just be here. I miss her oh-so much!

I wonder if the Sandman will remember where I sleep?
Oh - the workload inside is frightful,
And relief will be so delightful.
And since I don't like to get cold,
Please don't snow!
Please don't snow!
Please don't snow!

Like my version? I do!

Anatomy and Physiology is now done! So far, I have an 81 with 10% left to come in.

Intro To Nursing will be done Wednesday night. I spent yesterday afternoon working on my 15% paper, and that'll be done and turned in by tonight. And I'm proud of it! Hooray for hard work!

Travis, Tasha and Tycho are taking a red-eye tonight and showing up tomorrow sometime. House is almost ready!

I took yesterday off (after coming into work for a half an hour) to get the house in order. I got so much done (aside from my paper). I got through 5 loads of laundry (which are now folded and put away thanks to Adam), cleaned out some junk that was laying around since we painted, and started the decorating. Things are coming together nicely!Heck, we even borrow a toddler bed (and set it up, ready to go) from friends for Tycho.

I can't wait to sleep sometime soon. Likely early to bed on Thursday night. Between Friday and next Wednesday I have to bank 3.5 hours of OT so I can take Christmas Eve off and still get paid for it. I'll need all the sleep I can get!

Still looking around for a job that's more permanent. This one got extended until the end of March, but I would rather work somewhere where I can stay for a little while.

How are things with everyone else in the world?

Glad I'm not the only one!

I can be an asshole sometimes. Today is one of those times.

So the week has been crazy, but good.

Loki, the newest addition to the family, was quick to settle in. Max isn't sure he agrees, but has come to realize he doesn't have a choice.

Wedding invitations are underway! Tina came by last night and a lot of progress got made, and Adam and I went out and ordered a bunch of envelopes and picked up some test paper today, so hopefully they'll be all packaged up and ready to go by the time Christmas gets here.

Christmas is 3 weeks from today (it's still Friday as far as I'm concerned).

Starting to worry about Christmas shopping - I need to get it done. No one is getting anything big or fancy (aside from Kim and Kory getting the stroller). But I don't think anyone cares - we don't care what we get.

School is winding up and winding down at the same time. I'm super busy right now and I don't have time to do everything while keeping my sanity and health intact. It's not a fun balance. Well, at least not at this time.

On the up side - I picked up an adorable toque today that was on sale when I was out. Ahh... the little things.

Tis the season - so be happy!
