Step 1
So today (or bright and early this morning) I applied to 2 jobs.
After our 9km hike on Canada Day, and our day on the golf course on Saturday, I recovered very well. 2 months ago we did 3 kms and I was down for 2 days with so much pain it may well have been winter again. So there's been a huge improvement. Also, my pain pills are dosage is 1/3 of what it was, so that's another point in the plus column.
All of this makes me think that I'm ready to go back to work. Or at least get ready to go back to work. To actively start looking. That is, ofcourse, step 1.
Although I feel loads better than I did, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to the CF quite yet. I'm not 100%, and if they find that out they'll extend my medical restriction and possibly force me out. I"m not ready to deal with that quite yet. Also, in order to go back to work I have to pass the fitness test, which I am nowhere near ready for. I'm better for day to day life, but I'm not ready to start a running program, or to work on my upper body (which leads to tension in the muscles in my neck and shoulders, which leads to the damaged muscles clenches my nerves, which leads to the paralysis). I still need to keep my neck and shoulders relatively relaxed in order to keep my face normal, so jeopardizing that is not in the cards yet.
But hey - step 1.
