Canada Day in Halifax

Happy Canada Day Everyone!

And what a wonderful day I had :)

Adam and I got up and out of the apartment just in time to miss the commotion of the parade downtown. We headed to Salt Marsh trail and did a nice 9 kms. It was a nice day, with a pleasant breeze but not too much sun - which I, who burns easier than an ant under a magnifying glass, greatly appreciated.

Then we hit the road to go to my favorite little diner in Sackville... the food there is certainly worth the drive.

Then we dragged our tired bums home for a nice long nap. It felt amazing to crawl into bed.

After our little sleep we met Jen, Tina and Jenn at The Wooden Monkey. What a wonderful little place. I ordered a rum and coke, but was pleasantly surprised to find the use a natural cola, which is caffeine free, and made with cane sugar. How wonderful! The taste was amazing, and much more delightful than any other rum and 'cola' I've tasted. And to top it off, they have gluten free pizza, which was scrumptious!

It was a wonderful day, and I've enjoyed spending it with my tall, handsome and brilliant fiancee.

Happy birthday Canada. From one very happy Canadian.
