Well my weekend didn't go quite the way it was supposed to. (Does anything ever?)
Saturday:
Adam and I went down to the rental office to get the keys for the new apartment. We got there and were told "The carpet people didn't come on Thursday, so the place isn't ready for you."
Uh.....huh? Adam was told on Wednesday that the painting and carpet were done.
And you didn't call us to tell us.....why?
So they say they aren't sure what happened. One of the workers pipe and say this happened to her when her moving truck was here, and she had to wait 8 hours.
Right, okay - so this happens often? Well, okay..... we went by what you told us, and Aliant is coming on Monday to hooks stuff up. Should we cancel?
No. no. Don't cancel. I'll call you by the end of the day. I promise, I promise.
Okay.
They didn't call. Shocked! *gasp!*
So Adam and I went about our day. We had a lavish breakfast at home, and picked up the paint/supplies for the kitchen and bathroom, a new litter box for Max (which I think rocks!), and tried to get some stuff done. We even took a chance to go out with Jen U and grab a bite. Somehow, we managed to salvage our moods for the day.
So Sunday we went to my place to pack - I admit I haven't really packed anything. Got some good progress on the spare bedroom (wahoo!) and then had Kory, Kim, Dana and Taylor come for supper. It was nice to visit with them. They are like their own little family - it's funny t see Kory like that. But it was nice at the same time. Those girls adore him. And Taylor clings to him. Dana is so cute - I told them they'll have to come visit the pool at our new place and the girls got so excited!!! (which reminds me, I'll have to get those pics up of them).
So today I am waiting for Aliant. They oh-so-happy people in the office are having me doing my in-inspection at 9:30. Then Aliant will be by this afternoon. I may even take a few things from one place to the other today (little things - nothing too heavy of course). Then back to my place tonight for more packing.
I'm feeling alright these days. The doc doubled my meds last week, and seems to be working. I discovered that being in warm/hot water make the pain worse, so no baths or hot tubs for me for awhile. But otherwise, I've been feeling decent, which is nice. Very very nice.
Anyway... enough rambling.
