R.I.P. Andy Hallett

Andy Hallett, AKA Angel's 'Lorne' passed away this week.

I always enjoyed watching him in Angel. HE always lightened the mood and made the whole show. I believe he was a true talent. And now he has passed on.

And may I just say, he was a very handsome man.

God bless.

Monday Morning

Another week has started!

I had an amazing weekend. Adam and I did so many great things together, it was amazing. I still find it hard to believe that after all that has happened in my life, and all the crap I've gone through, I finally found someone to love like this. I thought the only love that would feel this strong would have been the "first" but I was so very wrong. Not only is it an all-encompassing, passionate love, it's overwhelming, and makes me happy all of the time. Even in a crappy mood, just thinking about him makes me smile.

Hey.. wait a minute... maybe that's the secret to finding "the one". Someone who can break through PMS!

It's weird though. Instead of it being "me and Adam", it's "us". Everything before him just seems like a prelude to the rest of my life. I was talking to Ellen (hi Ellen!!!) about this the other day, and she completely understood what I meant (thank goodness). It's different. Everything else just isn't as important as the most important thing in my life: my relationship. That isn't to say that I don't love everyone else the same way as I always have, but it's just that I'm finally looking at the world in focus now. I finally get what everyone has always talked about. And that BS line about how you "just know" when you meet the right person, isn't BS. Which still seems impossible to me.

We're starting to get more and more things together for the camping season. I'm very excited, even though it's a little while off. I can't wait! It'll be wonderful! Backpacking and hiking and camping will be awesome! I'd like to get a kayak camp-out in there somewhere too. I tried to get people to do it last year, but no one was interested. But I know it'd be great fun, so I may just make it happen this year.

I have to admit, I was super jealous of you Alice, when you went dog sledding. That was another one of those things that I tried to make happen when I was living out west, but couldn't get enough people together. I can't wait to try it (you lucky duck!).

Jen U is in ballet this year, and Adam and I went to her showcase last night. It was awesome! There were all kinds of different dances: belly dance, jazz, swing, ballet, etc. They were about 5 minutes each, and just wonderful. I can't wait to go to another show like that one! And Jen was awesome.

It seems like ever since the new year every weekend I have a jam packed schedule. First with the move, then the unpack, then guests, guests and more guests, then our trip home, then this weekend was a bunch of little obligations. This coming weekend is crazy too. Meeting Mandi, Rae and Becky for dinner after they get back from Punta Cana on Saturday (so jealous), my mom's birthday dinner on Sunday, and Sabrina mentioned she might be coming in to stay on Friday. So crazy! Although it is nice to be well enough to finally see people after being a hermit for months and months. It's so nice. And whenever I get the chance, Adam and I sneak out for some active us time on the town, whether it be walking, shopping, or just hanging out. Being a shut in was no fun at all.

Adam is taking up a sport this spring, so I was thinking of trying to throw together another girls night on whatever night he has that. I'd like to do something fun each week like play volleyball, or take a cooking class, or hit the gym, walk the waterfront or have different people host a dinner or something. I'll have to see who's interested once I find out Adam's schedule.

Hmmm... I must make time to drink soon.

Well, I'm off to make a casserole for dinner and toss in some laundry. I think I'll sneak over and pick Adam up from work today. It's rainy, pretty, relaxing, and a good day to snuggle with my honey.

XOXO

TGIF... wait... that doesn't matter to me. Hmmmm

Oh, just to remind everyone - tomorrow at 8:30 is Earth Hour. DON'T FORGET!

So much for a good night sleep last night. Argh. I think I finally got to sleep around 4am out of pure exhaustion. I even abandoned Adam and moved into the spare bedroom so he could get some sleep. Coughing sucks.

Still, I got up just after 11, and I've been cleaning since. Mandi and the girls are on their way here now, and I want this place to look decent. Not perfect, just decent. I don't have the energy for perfect. And with Capt Amazing at work right now, I'm battling the household stuff alone. Meh, I don't mind.

Alice, I was super happy to read the latest on your blog. Keep us in the loop! I can't wait to see you! If my thoughts are right, it would be in about a month, right? Awesome.

I am ready to be all healthy now. Where do I send the requisition? I'm sure it must be approved; I've more than paid my dues this year.

Although, all in all, I haven't had a bad year at all. I found the man of my dreams, moved from the barracks to a great apartment, furnished it, then moved in with the man of my dreams, got a kitty via cohabitation, got accepted to Dal, and paid off my car. And although I'm unemployed, I get to truly enjoy the summer, and I haven't done that since I was 16. What the heck do I have to complain about? Not a whole lot.

XOXO

Fabulous new trailer for Angels and Demons - I cannot wait!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcE8QaKiTGk

So I'm sick. Had a scratchy throat the other day, and yesterday I lost my voice, and today the coughing, congestion and stuffy nose showed up. My poor sweet Adam had to stay home sick today too. The poor guy. I wish I could do something to help. I don't want him to get as sick as I am.

We had our massages cancelled today. My therapist was having issues with her plane getting in on time, and with us being so ill, it's likely for the best. Still.... a massage never feels bad. Although, stopping mid massage to cough and blow your nose might be anti-therapeutic.

I can't wait to see Mandi and the girls tomorrow night! Wahoo! It's been far too long since I've seen them. I can not wait.

We settled in and watched the last 2 episodes of Big Love. OMGoodness it's awesome. I can't believe more people aren't into it. I think that's hilarious. But, no one ever takes my work on these things anyway, so whatever. I'm just the one with frivolous girly taste. Meh. Their loss.

Bedtime! And Max is being supercute tonight. He pulled the big Puss In Boots look a few minutes ago. Heart-melter.

Oh Maren, I'll call tomorrow to hear about your excursion with HER, and to hear the latest. Hugs!

Yay!!!

Oh, woke up without a voice today. Adam will have a very quiet night tonight. lol (Sorry gals, talking will have to be via email or FB for the day!)

Ellen crashed here the other night. It was so great to see her and hang out with her. I missed her.

Hmm... what to do now?

Monday....

What a weekend! I'm tuckered out :)

Tina came down for dinner last night, which was way yummy (Adam cooked). I don't remember the last time I ate enough to fill me. It was way awesome!

I met Adam's dad, his wife and step-siblings tonight. It went great. They were all very nice, and dinner turned out wonderful (if I do say so myself). I made a roast with a white potato/sweet potato mix and veggies. Yum!

Talked to Alice today. It was great to catch up and hear how things are going with her and Pascal. Can't wait to see her next month.

Ellen is coming over tonight after she gets off work. I was going to pick her up but weather is not cooperating. Silly winter ended last week. Didn't someone send the memo?

Valley trip a success!

Hello strange world.

So the trip this weekend was a great success. I sowed Adam my first apartment (in Wolfville), St Mary's Elementary (in Aylesford), Bargain Harley's, West Kings, and we made 6 visiting stops on in less than 24 hours. We were super busy! But it was nice. It felt good to get out to the valley. I haven't taken myself out there since June.

Saw Tina today, and we kicked back and relaxed to a Futurama movie (it was okay, her and Adam thought it was gut-busting). Ellen is coming over for a sleep over tomorrow (yayz!). I also get to meet Adam's father tomorrow for the first time (eek! nervous).

Filed my first unemployment report on Friday. Nothing interesting, although I really hope I did it right. I'm not overly sure. I'm sure they'll let me know if I didn't :/

Nothing exciting going on with me. Feeling relatively good. Still trying to sort out this whole gluten-free thing. It takes time.

Life is grand. I'm happily in love with my best friend, and things are going very well.

XOXO

Awesome Day!

What a great day today was. I met up with Adam after work and we walked the Dartmouth Harbourside trail, then came over on the ferry and stopped for some seafood. It was great! The sun was out, it was above zero, and to top it off: we were together. You can't beat that!

Love rocks.
